Nokia Android phones have been making it to the markets with China been among the first countries to enjoy this series of Nokia Phones. Among the latest Nokia phones released include Nokia 8 and Nokia 6 which was revealed at CES 2017.
The 2017 announcement of Android phone marks the return of Nokia Company to the mainstream mobile market. This new feeling is available only in China though, there are more new Nokia Android phones expected to come and be sold in other regions.
According to PC Advisor, Qualcomm was rumored to have revealed Nokia 8 at CES. Nokia, once the biggest and best-know phone manufacturer, faced some tough competition from iPhone and Android. The Finnish multinational communications and Information Technology Company made a mistake of agreeing to produce only Windows phones.
The firm ended up packing its mobile phone game and sold its business to Microsoft and come this year 2017, this could be the Nokia comeback as it targets to release its ever Android phone. Finnish brand HMD Global currently own the rights to develop, build and sell Nokia-branded phones. Though, it does so with Nokia's input.
HMD Global revealed that the Nokia 6 will be available for purchase in the coming weeks. However, this Nokia Android phones will only be available in China and it is expected that more phone will be announced at MWC 2017 at the end of February for sale in other regions as revealed in a video on Nokia's Facebook page.
Launching the Nokia 6 only in China reflects the desire to meet the real world need of customers in different markets around the world. China has more than 552 million smartphone users and the figure is predicted to rise to more than 593 million users by this year, 2017. HMD said, "It is a strategically important market where premium design and quality is highly valued by consumers."
According to Gadgets 360, Nokia 6 has a marked price of 1699 CNY which translates to £201.66 in the UK, $245.38 in the US, and 232.07 Euro in the EU. The Nokia 6 which is a uni-body Android Nougat phone will be going on sale in just black color.
The phone is crafted from a single block of Series 6000 aluminium and has a 5.5in full-HD laminated in-cell display with protective 2.5D Gorilla Glass.
HMD has fitted the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor inside, along with the 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM, Adreno 505 GPU, 3,000mAh battery and 64GB of storage. HMD concentrates on the Nokia 6's multimedia functionality, giving it a dual amplifiers that provides a 6dB louder sound which gives it higher voice, unmatched clarity and deeper bass. In additions, Nokia 6 has a 16Mp, f/2.0 primary camera that has phase-detection autofocus, and an 8Mp selfie camera.
Following the CES 2017, a global consumer electronics and technology tradeshow, Total Tech shared a video on YouTube that revealed the Nokia 8 or "Nokia Supreme." Total Tech stated that Qualcomm displayed the smartphone at its booth at CES. However, Qualcomm denied the allegations of showing the Nokia 8 saying, "We do not disclose details of our reference design" adding that the reports are not accurate and their 835 demos were on their own reference design devices.
