With the impending end of "Running Man," viewers will soon see a familiar face appearing the SBS variety show. Former member Gary is set to rejoin Song Ji Hyo and other cast members in upcoming episodes.
Gary was one of the original members of the SBS' long-running variety program "Running Man." However, the South Korean rapper decided to leave the show in November 2016 to focus on his music career.
Despite Gary's exit from the program, showrunners already featured the rapper as a guest in an episode where cast members were tasked to complete a challenge with him. It appears that the "Running Man" alum will again rejoin his former cast members.
Variety show sources told local reporters that Gary already completed filming activities for the SBS program, All Kpop quoted the insiders as saying. Viewers can look forward to seeing the musician bond with his long-time celebrity friends, as well as his variety show partner Song in the upcoming Jan. 29 episode.
Dubbed as the "Monday Couple," avid fans of the SBS show can expect to see Gary and Song's exceptional teamwork, along with the musician's camaraderie with other cast members. However, the rapper's appearance in the said variety program would only be for one to two episodes.
Meanwhile, "Running Man" cast members are set to embark on an Asian fan meeting tour beginning February until March. Song, as well as Lee Kwang Soo, Kim Jong Kook, Ji Suk Jin and Haha are set to visit Taiwan, Macau, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong, according to local news outlets, as cited by Korea Herald.
However, Asian fans hoping to see Yoo Jae Suk and "Running Man" alum Gary during the said tour will be disappointed. Gary will not be able to take part in the fan meeting tour given his departure from the show, while scheduling conflicts prevented Yoo from participating in the said activity.
"Running Man" is set to air its final episode in February on SBS. Watch a clip from the show below:
