Finally, AMC has announced the premiere date for the highly-anticipated "Into the Badlands" Season 2. Starring Daniel Wu and Aramis Knight, the martial arts series will return to the network on March 19 at 10:00 PM (ET/PT).
During AMC panel at the recent Television Critics Association (TCA) Summer Tour, the network confirmed "Into the Badlands" will return to the small-screen for another 10 episodes, Comic Book reported. A brand new trailer has also been released, giving fans glimpse of what's to come.
Picking up where Season 1 left off, "Into the Badlands" Season 2 finds Sunny (Wu) and M.K. (Knight) each detained in improbable places. While the latter struggles to control his power, the former is determined to fight his way back into the Badlands to find his family.
Also, viewers can expect a dark and mysterious threat coming, which aims to exact revenge on the show's lead stars. By the end of Season 2, Sunny and M.K.'s lives will be interminably altered by annihilating results.
Though nothing is set in stone yet, latest spoiler hint at the potential cameo appearance of legendary actor Jackie Chan, 62. In a sit-down interview with BT.com, the Hong Kong-American actor said he will try to ask the latter to make a special appearance in the martial arts series.
"He did help us promote our show with a viral video when we first started the first season," Wu said. "And he made a little clip about how he was disappointed that he wasn't involved, so maybe we'll try and get him involved at a certain point."
Wu also talked about what his character is really like and what does the tattoo marks on his back speaks to. He revealed the 404 tattoo marks on Sunny's back represents the total number of individuals he successfully killed.
The "Overheard 3" actor added Sunny is an exceptionally skilled and efficient warrior. However, his world starts to change when his girlfriend becomes pregnant.
