"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 star Camilla Luddington recently hinted on the possibility of her real life pregnancy being written into her character's storylines.
While speaking with TV Line, the actress said that as of right now in the hit ABC series, her pregnancy is still being hidden. It can be expected that what happened to "Scandal" star Kerry Washington will also happen to the actress.
In the previous episodes of "Scandal" Season 5, Washington was already pregnant with her second child. As such, she was asked to wear loose clothing, and her tummy was almost always covered by a vase, bag, folder and the like.
But even though Luddington's pregnancy has not yet been written into Jo's storylines, the actress also said that anything can happen in a show such as "Grey's Anatomy."
"As of right now they are definitely hiding the pregnancy... We have a lot more episodes to go this season, and these things can get sprung on us at a table read, so I really cannot say for sure if it will stay that way," she said.
Meanwhile, there are ongoing rumors claiming that if Jo will be pregnant, it may not be with Alex's (Justin Chambers) baby. Since Jo's abusive ex-husband will be introduced in the upcoming episodes, the two characters will reunite with each other.
Jo and Alex are also not in a very good place at the moment. The latter assaulted one of Jo's friends from the hospital when he saw the two of them in his apartment.
Additionally, ABC president Channing Dungey told TV Line that one of the ways to make sure that fans will continue to watch "Grey's Anatomy" for more seasons is if stories focusing on Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Alex's relationship will take center stage.
Dungey said that when she went online and searched for what interests fans the most, she discovered that a lot of viewers are rooting for Meredith and Alex to become a couple. If this happens, Alex cannot be the father of Jo's baby.
"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 will return to ABC on Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. EST.
