2NE1 will be releasing their final song as a group, titled, "Goodbye," in a matter of days. However, former group member, Minzy, claims she had no idea about it.
The ex-2NE1 maknae has now taken to social media to express her displeasure over the fact that she had to find out about the upcoming release through the press, instead of being informed by her former group members. On Jan. 20, Friday, Minzy posted a photo of the group together along with a caption written in both Korean and English.
In the caption, the 23-year-old singer said she was disappointed to learn about 2NE1's final song, "Goodbye," through a news report. She also added that even though she is no longer a part of the group, she shares the same feelings as other 2NE1 members when it comes to expressing her gratitude to fans for their love and support over the years, along with the hashtags #2NE1#Fourever and #Goodbye.
In November, YG Entertainment announced the four-member girl group's disbandment via an official statement obtained by All Kpop. In the statement, the label noted that the decision to disintegrate the group came after Minzy chose not to renew her contract and the group will continue to promote as a trio until their disbandment.
At the time, YG also announced that it renewed contracts with 2NE1 members CL and Dara while Park Bom's contract was not renewed. Fans are now lashing out at Minzy for chosing to leave the group in 2016 to pursue a solo career and then complaining about not being informed about the group's final song.
"Goodbye" is a song penned by CL and composed by J Gramm and Rook Monroe, according to Soompi. The song is a dedication to 2NE1's fans and will be out on Jan. 21, Saturday at 12 a.m. KST. Until then, check out the teaser of the upcoming track in the video below:
