Another Samsung smartphone is hinting a next launch ahead of the highly-anticipated Galaxy S8 launch in April. With new leak renders appearing online, the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) handset has been recently spotted on GeekBench database.
In the said benchmarking site, the Samsung J7 (2017) handset carries a model number of SM-J727P, which runs the latest Android 7.0 Nougat. It also passed the single-core test with a mark of 889 while it scored a 4200 in the multi-core test, Softpedia News has learned.
More to the revealed listing indicate that the device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2.21 GHz, and will be coupled with 2GB of RAM, a lower RAM capacity against its previously rumored 3GB of RAM. No further details on the device's display, design, and internal storage are included in the Geekbench listing.
According to earlier rumors on the Samsung J7 (2017) device, its display will sport a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED resolution (1280X1080 pixels). Its internal chassis may include an Adreno graphics processing unit, depending on the processor model. In its optics department, the smartphone will feature a rear camera capacity of 13-megapixels, while the front camera will sport a 5-megapixel front-snapper for conducting video calls and selfies.
Previous renders of the phone revealed a physical button in the phone's front panel, embedded with the latest security suite of a fingerprint scanner inside. It will measure 51.34 x 76.20 x 8 mm and will include a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microphone at the bottom.
According to Indian Express, the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) smartphone may not come as the upgraded version of the Galaxy J7 (2016) smartphone due to its specs. Besides carrying the same display and processor, the 2016 edition of the Galaxy J7 features a metal frame and runs the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Its internals include an Exynos 1.6Ghz octa-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) houses a 3,300 mAh removable battery, which is bigger than the J7 (2017) device's 3,000 mAh battery.
As of press time, no official announcement by the South Korean tech giant is released regarding the upcoming J7 (2017) phone. However, the smartphone is expected to be made available at Verizon Wireless in the coming months, which could arrive in April 2017.
