"Big Bang Theory" is halfway through Season 10, but it is still unclear whether or not the CBS sitcom will be renewed for Season 11.
Earlier this month, the heads of the network expressed their desire to have "Big Bang Theory" renewed for more seasons, but cast members Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco and Jim Parsons are still in talks to return.
While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Galecki finally breaks his silence on the possible renewal of "Big Bang Theory" and said that the writers of the sitcom are not yet ready to say goodbye to the show.
"We are very much talking about the show's future right now, and it seems that the writers are very confident and excited that they can write some more after this year, which is an incredible testament to them," he said.
Galecki admitted that he is unsure how long he could still be part of "Big Bang Theory" and play the same role of Leonard year after year. But in moments where he feel discouraged, he remembers the passion of the writers and his co-stars.
"If they are confident that they can do more, then I know that we are still having a great time with it on stage, so hopefully a bit longer," he said.
Meanwhile, CBS chief Glenn Geller told the same publication back in August that if it is up to him, he will have the show renewed for more seasons. "We will put it on for as long as everyone wants 'Big Bang' on the air. I hope it lasts forever," he said.
Cuoco and Parsons are also more than willing to reprise their roles as Penny and Sheldon in "Big Bang Theory," but the actress admitted that the renewal poses a very expensive question. All three stars receive $1 million per episode of "Big Bang Theory," and an update in their contracts for a possible Season 11 could mean an increase in their paycheck.
In other news, "Big Bang Theory" Season 10, episode 14 will see the return of Raj's (Kunal Nayyar) four ex-girlfriends.
"Big Bang Theory" Season 10, episode 14 will return to CBS sometime in February.
