Real Sociedad has won three of their last four matches and has been unbeaten in four of their last six to climb to the fifth spot of the Spanish top flight table. They are now only two points behind fourth-running squad Atletico Madrid and the final Champions League qualifying berth while holding a Europa League slot for next season.

La Real is coming off an impressive 2-0 blanking of middling side Malaga on the road at the La Rosaleda Stadium on Monday, as per SkySports.

After a goalless first half of action, Spanish defender Inigo Martinez broke the game's deadlock in the 50th minute with a left-footed shot following a free kick.

Spanish forward Juanmi then doubled the lead of head coach Eusebio Sacristán's squad in the 62nd minute as they held Malaga scoreless in the entire match.

Meanwhile, Celta Vigo nipped a 10-man Alaves side at their home ground of Balaídos Stadium during their most recent La Liga fixture held last Sunday, via Sporting Life.

The game looked headed to a goalless draw as both teams were not able to score any goals until Serbian midfielder Nemanja Radoja netted the lone goal of the contest one minute before the full-time whistle was blown.

Radoja caught a pass from Celta team captain Hugo Mallo in the 89th minute and right-footed a shot to the back of Alaves goalkeeper Fernando Pacheco's goal.

It was the second straight victory for the Célticos as they bounced back from a previous three-game winless slide. Celta is now eighth in the overall standings.
