Funcom has released the third trailer for "Conan Exiles," the upcoming open-world online survival game set in the "Conan the Barbarian" universe. The developers have also given more details regarding Player-versus-Player (PvP) mechanics, servers and the price for the game on Early Access.
The game will launch on Steam Early Access this Jan. 31 and will cost $29.99. "Conan Exiles" will also launch on Xbox One Preview sometime in the Spring. A full launch release date has yet to be announced.
While the two previous trailers focused on the "survival" and "build" aspects of the game, the third trailer now showcases the "dominate" mechanics. It is also emphasized that while there are many monsters and enemies filling the world, the real threat in "Conan Exiles" are other players, called "exiles."
One of the major mechanics in the game is that players can assault the bases of other exiles. The pinnacle of a siege is when an exile is capable of summoning an Avatar, the physical representation of the exile's favored deity.
"An Avatar is the ultimate force of destruction in a PvP siege," PC Gamer quotes lead designer Oscar Lopez Lacalle. "If you are under attack by an Avatar, you have to find the summoner and kill them."
During the video it is further elaborated that the summoner can be spotted regardless of where players are on the map. This gives other exiles a fair chance of finding and killing the summoner before the Avatar destroys their home base.
The game will also feature a dodging mechanic. However, dodging does not grant invulnerability frames and instead just gives another option of getting out of danger as quickly as possible, Dual Shockers reported.
Server settings and options are also revealed. Players will have full control over server settings and can turn Avatars off for a specific server. Other aspects players can alter are the XP multiplier rate, day and night cycle speed, hunger rates and more.
