Fans are delighted to meet Marvel's smallest superhero this July - Ant-Man.
"Ant-Man" is one of Marvel's upcoming superhero film following characters Scott Lang and Dr. Hank Pym. Scott will be trained by Dr. Hank, an entomologist, physicist, and the brain behind the Ant-Man technology way back 1963. As a superhero, Ant-Man is small in size but possesses superstrong abilities.
The film will star Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/ Ant-Man, Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym, Evangeline Lily as Hope Van Dyne, and Corey Stoll as Darren Cross/ Yellowjacket.
Bobby Cannavale, who will play Scott Lang's friend, made some revelations about the anticipated film. He suggests that the film is mildly serious, but with a touch of comedy.
"And so, both actors are really good improvisers. Adam McKay and Paul did a big rewrite on that script. So the scenes themselves felt like an indie film," he said. "It really felt like a comedy that we were doing. And then of course, you have those big scenes. I spent so much time in front of a blue screen and that was just a trip for me," he added.
So, will "Ant-Man" follow the footsteps of "Guardians of the Galaxy"?
Cannavale also linked the upcoming Marvel film to the hit movie "Guardians of the Galaxy" in Nuke the Fridge.
"It's pretty funny," he said.
"I think so. I haven't seen anything but I felt funny. It's Paul so I think they're not hiring Paul Rudd to be The Winter Soldier. It's going to have a sense of levity to it, like "Guardians". "Guardians" is a blue chips superhero movie but it's a pretty funny film. They just got the right people," the actor continued.
"When I looked around and saw who I was surrounded by, Corey Stoll, actors I've seen for years in little movies that I really liked, it just felt like I belong here," he added.
Right now, the movie is expected to be one of Marvel's bullet films this year. The superhero is now seen as another star icon to the present generation.
"Ant-Man" is set to be piloted by Payton Reed, along with Adam McKay, Paul Rudd, Edgar Write, Joe Cornish, Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, and Jack Kirby as writers. The movie producers are Victoria Alonso, Louis D'Esposito, Kevin Feige, Alan Fine, Michael Grillo, Stan Lee, Leo Thompson, Brad Winderbaum, Lars Winther, and Edgar Wright.
Filming took place in Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Georgia as well as in Tenderloin and Buena Vista Park, both located in San Francisco, California.
The smallest Marvel protagonist "Ant-Man" will crawl to theaters and cinemas on July 17, 2015.
