The members of the Justice League are almost complete. At present, fans have been waiting for the actor behind Green Lantern.
It is still cloudy as to which character will be officially part of the DC Cinematic Universe. It can be Hal Jordan of the 2011 Green Lantern film or John Stewart of the 1972 Green Lantern mythos.
Actor and hip hop artist Common revealed his interest to play the role of John Stewart in Screenrant.
"I would love to be John Stewart and play Green Lantern. That was one of those things where I was so excited because we rarely see African-American superheroes or people of color as a superhero," he said.
"I think it would be great for the world to see, and for people to see, and for Hollywood to put that out there, too. But just for the world to see, just for kids to be able to see, for all nationalities to see a person of color as a superhero, too," the actor added.
Meanwhile, the netizens were rocked by an Instagram post by Umberto Gonzales, suggesting that Chris Pine will be playing the role of Hal Jordan/ Green Lantern.
Gonzales said in his post, "The name I keep hearing & floating around, is Chris Pine for Hal Jordan. Yes, Captain Kirk. Again, this is still just a RUOR hence UNCONFIRMED. Been hunting this one for a while so the search is still ongoing."
Chris Pine was born in Los Angeles and had a role in several movies, including "Star Trek" (2009 and 2013), "Unstoppable" (2010), and "Into the Woods" (2014).
The actor has got a number of awards, which include "Boston Society of Film Critics Award", "Denver Film Critics Society Award", "Scream Award", and "ShoWest Award" last 2009 and then "CinemaCon Award" last 2013.
He was also nominated for various awards, such as "Washington DC Area Film Critics Association Awards", "Teen Choice Awards", "People's Choice Awards", "Detroit Film Critic Society Awards", and "Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards".
Pine is currently affiliated with five confirmed projects for this year and next year. These are "Z for Zachariah", "The Finest Hours", "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp", and "Mantivities" for this year. He will reprise his role as Kirk in "Star Trek 3" in 2016.
At present, there is still no confirmation from the Pine nor Warner Bros on who will play Green Lantern.
"Green Lantern" is slated to be released on June 19, 2020.
