"Goblin" ended on Saturday, Jan. 21, and its finale episode earned the highest ratings for the hit tvN drama.
According to Nielsen Korea (via Soompi), the two-part finale episode surpassed its 15 percent ranking throughout the entire season. But other than its high ratings, "Goblin" also has more reasons to celebrate.
The series ended with a possible cliffhanger in the lives of Gong Yoo's Goblin character, as well as Ji Eun Tak. This has resulted in rumors suggesting that a possible Season 2 may be released on the cable network.
Meanwhile, special episodes of "Goblin" are slated for release in February. So even if a Season 2 will not happen anytime in the near future, fans will still have the chance to watch their favorite characters on television.
The special episodes will reportedly contain behind the scenes clips, blooper reels and interviews from cast members. However, the time and date when these special episodes will air has not yet been confirmed. "Goblin's" original timeslot will be given to the up and coming K-drama, "Tomorrow With You," which will air on tvN starting Feb. 3.
In other news, an OST for "Goblin" will reportedly be released in the coming weeks. The album will contain all of the songs featured in the series. On top of this, a narration of Gong Yoo, a lyric book and a photo book will also be part of the OST.
One of the songs that will be part of the album is "Round and Round." The track is typically featured in some of the most important scenes from the series. "Round and Round" was performed by Heize and Han Soo Ji.
