Villarreal has continued to play inconsistently this season, with two wins, three draws, and a loss in their last six matches. With four winless performances in the last six rounds, the team dropped to the sixth spot of the league table, four points behind fourth and fifth-place teams Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad.

El Submarino Amarillo was stunned by rising team Valencia, 0-2, at their own home field of Estadio de la Cerámica last Saturday to snap a five-game unbeaten run, as per Sofa Score.

Head coach Fran Escribá's boys were kept goalless by the 15th-place squad throughout the entire contest after seeing Villarreal go through a streak that includes a 3-0 win over Atletico Madrid and 1-1 draws with Barcelona and Sociedad.

Carlos Soler and Santi Mina netted the goals for Valencia in the 35th and 42nd minutes as both teams went scoreless in the second half of play.

Meanwhile, Granada has remained in the bottom three relegation area as the team is currently on a five-game winless slide. They are in the 19th spot of the 20-team standings with only one win to show after 19 games in the Spanish top-flight.

El Grana fell to middling club Espanyol, 1-3, in their most recent La Liga match also last on the road at the Estadi Cornellà-El Prat, AS English reported.

Espanyol midfielder Jose Reyes opened the scoring in the 11th minute, but Andreas Pereira was able to quickly equalize in the 23rd to keep head coach Lucas Alcaraz's side in the match.

However, Los Periquitos netted the next two goals in the 32nd and 48th minutes, courtesy of Pablo Piatti and Marc Navarro, to hand Granada their 11th loss this season.
