The Cleveland Cavaliers are officially struggling after losing for the fifth time in seven games since January 10. The defending champions lost to the Anthony Davis-less New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night and LeBron called out the entire Cavs.
In the 124-122 defeat against the Pelicans, James posted a triple-double with 26 points, ten rebounds and 12 assists. Kyrie Irving also exploded for 49 points and Kevin Love added 22 points but it was not enough to get the win.
"I don't know what we got to offer. I just know me personally? I don't got no time to waste. I'll be 33 in the winter, and I ain't got time to waste. That's what I'm talking about," James told reporters after the game, via Cleveland.com.
"King James" also had a cuss-filled message to the front office. He pointed out the lack of a playmaker for the second unit. However, he also wants the front office to think about the right point guard to acquire.
"I'm not singling out anybody. I'm not. Yeah, we won the championship but f***, you know what, let's see if we can do something. We need a f***ing playmaker. I'm not saying you can just go find one, like you can go outside and see trees. I didn't say that," James said, via ESPN.
The struggles for the Cavaliers started when they lost to the Utah Jazz on January 10 in Salt Lake City. It was followed up by an embarrassing loss to the struggling Portland Trail Blazers the next day. It was when the team blamed the lack of practice.
The Cavs then went on to win in Sacramento on January 14 but they ended up getting blown out by the Golden State Warriors on January 17. It was an even more embarrassing loss for Cleveland because they lose by 36 points.
A big win against the Phoenix Suns last Friday was a good sign but they lost once again in their next game. The Cavs played toe-to-toe with the San Antonio Spurs before losing in overtime. Finally, the loss to the Davis-less Pelicans was enough for James to call out his teammates and the front office.
