Chinese smartphone maker Gionee hints that the company will release its new mid-range smartphone anytime soon, and will be referred to as the "lite" version of the Gionee F5.
The new Gionee-branded device, F5L, was recently spotted on the Chinese telecommunications certification authority TENAA, which is China's equivalent to the FCC. According to GizBot, the upcoming smartphone might be released only to China markets as the TENAA image renders reveal a carrier logo, along with 4G LTE symbol placed at the bottom of F5L.
As per its listing, the Gionee F5L packs a 5.3-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, resulting to pixel density of 277 pixels per inch. Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core SoC clocked at 1.5GHz, which is not revealed on the said listing.
However, reports suggest that the smartphone sees one of MediaTek's mid-range processors as its mobile chipset. In terms of internal memory, the Gionee F5L will come with a 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage onboard.
According to Android Headlines, the smartphone will obviously pack a large battery capacity that Gionee equips on its smartphones. The F5L will house a whooping non-removable 4,000mAh battery, which should support the fast-paced lifestyle of consumers.
On its optics department, the device will bring a 13-megapixel camera on its rear panel, while an 8-megapixel snapper is located on the device's front side.
The phone's physical design includes a loudspeaker that sits on the back of the device, right around the lower portion. Its power/lock and volume rocker keys can be found on the right edges. Its capacitive home button is placed below the Gionee F5L's display, which comes with two capacitive keys on the sides: an overview (multitasking) button and back button.
On the software front, the Gionee F5L works with Android 6.0 Marshmallow alongside Gionee's Amigo UI running on top of it. This smartphone has dimensions of 150 x 74.5 x 7.7mm, and weighs 162 grams.
The smartphone is listed to be available in two color options, namely White and Gold color variants.
The TENAA listing discussed no further details regarding the launch date of the phone, although the company could unveil it at the MWC 2017 this February.
