The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) released the details on Harrison Ford's World War II vintage plane crash landed on the golf course near the Santa Monica Municipal Airport. The "Indiana Jones" leading star was hospitalized for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
An initial NTSB report stated on the Brisbane Times that Ford, 72 years old, initiates a left turn towards the runway of the airport, a few seconds after developing an engine trouble during his flight last Thursday.
The detailed report showed on how the actor responded when the engine of his plane stopped running. His decision to veer left puts his plane on a nearly-empty golf course just near the airport and crash landed. It's a good decision for Ford as observed by John Nance, an aviation consultant of ABC News, he said further that if Ford veered his plane to the right, he would be hitting several homes near the airport.
The NTSB report that there was no bystander injured in the incident. Ford's airplane hit the top of a tall tree before hitting the ground that causes substantial damages to the fuselage and the wings.
He immediately notified the airport control tower and asked that he will be allowed to return after noticing that his plane developed an engine trouble shortly after taking off from the airport's runway, as reported by The WRAP. The tower air traffic controller testified to the National Transport Safety Board that Ford's plane came up short of the runway.
Calista Flockhart, the actor's wife was spotted in the hospital where the actor was admitted. His son, Ben, twitted that his father is recovering and is in the best possible care, he also thanks the actor's fans for their concern and prayers. Also, Ina Treciokas, Harrison Ford's publicist announced that the injuries of the actor are non-life-threatening and recovering fast from his injuries.
