Ahead of the looming Moto G5 release, multiple leaks have given avid fans a glimpse of what the Moto G4 successor will be like. The latest one from notorious leaker Roland Quandt has made the pile taller by revealing the looks of the phone via several case renders.
According to Leakite, the updated Moto G5 seems to have acquired its inspiration from the Moto Z series. The Moto G guise is still clearly noticeable, representing Motorola's semblance. As per now, much cannot be said because the leaks may not be precise.
However, the obvious upgrades of the device will see a boost in the processing department with the phone receiving a better processor and GPU. The rumored one is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625. For the RAM, the maximum limit for the upgrade is up to 4GB. It is also expected that Motorola will do away with the Micro USB to finally embrace the new USB-C.
Previously, the Moto G handsets had taken a much smaller size compared to the 5.5 inches Moto G4. But the phone ended up being a little uncomfortable for the Moto G community and Motorola may make the Moto G5 a 5-incher to satisfy its critics, according to Trusted Reviews.
As for the price, the Moto G5, like its predecessors, is expected to be cheap even without skimping on hardware. The phone had launched at $170, the Moto G2 at $182, the Moto G3 at $200, and the Moto G4 at $212.
The prices seem to be creeping up every year, but that is not a guarantee of a higher price for the Moto G5. Unfortunately, currency fluctuations could hold the pricing back based on the current state of economies, particularly in europe. To be on safe side, those who want to buy the phone should prepare for a $250 cost.
Moto G5 will be launched at Mobile World Congress towards the end of February in Barcelona, Spain. The actual release date, however, will be somewhere in March. Here is a clip of more Moto G5 rumors:
