Producing-director (PD) Jin Hyuk has been vocal about his admiration for Lee Min-Ho but working with him on "The Legend of the Blue Sea" only made him respect the Hallyu star even more.
Speaking to Korean newsoutlet OSEN, as cited by Soompi, PD Jin said Lee is one of the most hardworking, humble and selfless actors he has ever worked with. He stated he likes how the latter stay humble despite being one of the biggest South Korean stars today.
"What hasn't changed about him is that he's a hardworking actor," PD Jin added. "He's always humble and serious about acting. I expect he must have been really tired during the last half of filming, but he was the one who treated the staff to the most meals and coffee. I think it was very sweet of him."
PD Jin, who worked with the Hallyu star in the 2011 action drama "City Hunter," also praised Lee's dynamic portrayal of Heo Joon Jae. He said the latter did an admirable job portraying the different sides of the male lead character, adding that he carried out those heartbreaking scenes impressively.
"I would say he has grown from a star to a real actor, considering the way he would give it his all despite the cold weather and would carefully monitor his acting," PD Jin added. "I'm really thankful that he helped me out with the production."
As the 20-episode fantasy drama comes to an end, Lee will hold a special fan meeting event on Feb. 18- 19 at the Grand Peace Hall, Kyung Hee University, to commemorate his 10th anniversary in the industry. He is expected to spice up the upcoming event by showing a side of him that has not been known to many, according to his agency MYM Entertainment, as cited by Yonhap News Agency.
