Apple has already released the latest macOS Sierra 10.12.4 beta update for testers just two days after it was launched for the developers. The latest public version is macOS Sierra 10.12.3 which is already stable.
For those looking to try out the latest from Apple, the macOS Sierra beta update will be a good choice. It includes several bug fixes and improvements although there could be new bugs that can be discovered considering that it is still in a testing stage.
Beta testers that are already registered with Apple's beta testing program can automatically update to macOS Sierra 10.12.4 through the Mac App Store's Software Update mechanism, Mac Rumors has learned. If the update notification does not pop up, users can just open the app itself to refresh the update cache.
For those who want to sign up for the beta testing program, they can still do so via the official Apple website. They will be able to download both macOS Sierra and iOS beta updates. They do need to note that the updates may have severe bugs that are undiscovered during the early development stages.
Apple's new macOS Sierra 10.12.4 beta update brings the much-needed Night Shift feature which is similar to the already famous night modes in other programs, Digital Trends reported. It helps users to sleep better at night by filtering out blue light that is shown to be disruptive to a person's nocturnal cycle. The feature is already found in most smartphones today.
More features included in the new update include update PDFKit APIs, more Siri features and dictation support for Shanghainese. Siri can now be asked for cricket sport details such as player information and game schedules.
Users who are still on El Capitan or Yosemite will need to update to macOS Sierra before attempting to download the beta updates. The 10.12.4 update may go out of beta soon after weeks of testing.
