Count Olaf failed to get the Baudelaire's fortune but he may try again in "A Series of Unfortunate Events" Season 2 from Netflix. The streaming company has not yet given a green light but it is entirely possible.
Netflix has struck gold again with "A Series of Unfortunate Events" thanks to the talents of Neil Patrick Harris playing the sinister Count Olaf and Patrick Warburton as the elusive Lemony Snicket. Since the first season has already ended, streamers are already waiting for its next installment which may come in 2018.
"A Series of Unfortunate Events" Season 2 is most likely happening soon as the first season managed to get behind "Orange is the New Black" and "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" in terms of rankings from Symphone Advanced Media, as cited by TV Series Finale. Netflix has been marketing the new show across Facebook and YouTube.
The whole show revolves around Lemony Snicket telling the unfortunate events of Baudelaire orphans' fate. For first time viewers or those who did not read the books, the show does a good job of introducing everyone. "How I Met Your Mother" star NPH also fits perfectly for Count Olaf with his showmanship and acting talents.
"A Series of Unfortunate Events" Season 2 scripts are already being written, show director Barry Sonnenfeld told Variety in an interview. While the first season covered the first four books in the franchise, the next season will span five in the middle. The showrunners also planned to cover the last four in the third and final season.
Netflix still has no comments regarding the issue and a green light has not been given yet. However, the fact that script writers are already working on "A Series of Unfortunate Events" Season 2 may be a good sign that it is already under way for 2018.
