NVIDIA fans who buy a GTX 1070 or a GTX 1080 will be able to pick between Ubisoft's "For Honor" or "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands" for a free game. The mobile versions of the cards in laptops are also included in the promo.
One of the benefits of being a fan of NVIDIA is that the tech company often gives out free games for their loyal customers. The free games will be redeemed through NVIDIA's GeForce Experience software that is free to download from their official website.
NVIDIA's GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 currently take the top spots for the high-end video card market. AMD's Radeon RX 480 targeted the mainstream customers but their upcoming Vega GPUs, which will most likely start with the RX 490, are expected to take on the high-end market.
Both of the free games from NVIDIA are not yet released. GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 customers will be given a code for their purchase after they choose between "Ghost Recon Wildlands" and "For Honor," CNET has learned. The said code will be entered in GeForce Experience which will automatically activate their free game in their Uplay account.
Fans of shooters will most likely choose "Ghost Recon Wildlands" which puts players into the land of Bolivia. As the title suggests, the game will have a rural setting.
"For Honor" will be a choice for those who love medieval games as it puts warriors and other melee fighters against each other, PC World reported. It could be a good benchmarking tool for the new GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 cards of the customers.
"Ghost Recon Wildlands" and "For Honor" have release dates of March 7 and Feb. 14, respectively. The GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 mobile cards are also included in the NVIDIA promo. Game codes will be redeemed through the GeForce Experience software.
