When Chinese actress Angelababy gave birth to a son on Jan. 16, she announced the event on social media by posting a photo of her and Little Snow’s fist. She kept the privacy of her child by husband Huang Xiaoming by not posting yet the face of the baby.
Similarly, majority of 10 Chinese and Korean celebrities who are expecting babies in 2017 are keeping the gender of their babies to themselves yet in the meantime. Of the 10 couples, three said they would have a boy, two a girl and the rest did not yet disclose their babies’ gender, Toggle reported.

Couples having a girl are Sonia Sui and Tony Chia, and Kay Tse and Louis Cheung. Kay Tse initially denied she was pregnant in July when she was seen wearing baggy clothes at a mall with husband Louis Cheung and checking baby products. However, she admitted in September she is pregnant with her second child and would give birth to a girl in March.
Couples having a boy are Ella Chen and Alvin Lai, Haha and Byul, and William So and Anita Fung. It is the first child for Anita Fung and William So who are already in their 40s. Ritchie Jen had suggested naming the boy “So Dabing” or “soda cracker,” which would make the child the butt of jokes even if he grows old.
Couples who have kept the gender of their babies to themselves are Joanne Peh and Qi Yuwu, Charlie Young and Khoo Shao Tze, Alyssa Chia and Xiu Jie Kai, Harlem Yu and Jinny Chang, and Park Myung Soo and Han Su Min.
Being Parents at 40
It is the second child for Park Myung Soo and dermatologist Su Min who is scheduled to give birth in May. Like William So who is nearing 50, Park Myung Soo, a South Korean comedian, disclosed at the KBS Entertainment Award that he would be 47 when Su Min delivers their second child.
Outside Asia, the whole world is celebrating the pregnancy of singer Beyonce who announced on Instagram on Wednesday that she is pregnant with twins.
