After the success of the animated fantasy comedy film "Hotel Transylvania", Drac Pack is back in the film's sequel in "Hotel Transylvania 2".
"Hotel Transylvania" was released in theaters and cinemas last September 28, 2012 by Columbia Pictures. The animated film obtained an estimated domestic gross of $148 million and an estimated foreign gross of $210 million, for an estimated worldwide gross of $358 million.
The voice cast for the main characters include Adam Sandler as Dracula, Andy Samberg as Jonathan, and Selena Gomez as Mavis.
Other voice cast members include Kevin James as Frankenstein, Fran Drescher as Eunice, Steve Buscemi as Wayne, Molly Shannon as Wanda, Dave Spade as Griffin, Ceelo Green as Murray, Jon Ovitz as Quasimodo, Jackie Sandler as Martha, Mel Brooks as Vlad, Chris Kattah as Cakie, and Julia Lea Wolov as Kelsey.
As per Broadway World, the plot summary says that things have changed in hotel Transylvannia.
The initial hotel for monsters has opened its doors human guests as well. Mavis is with Johnny and her in-laws. Dracula is now a grandfather, since Mavis and Johnny now have a half-human half-vampire son named Dennis.
Dracula's cranky and old-school dad Vlad is also going to pay a visit in his hotel. Are things going to change if Vlad discovers that his great-grandson is not a pure vampire?
Film director Genndy Tartakovsky gave some information about the upcoming film, in Moviefone. He was asked if the child in the trailer the half-human child of Mavis and Johnny.
"That's right. Dracula is a grandfather and his name is Dennis, and Dennis isn't showing any signs of becoming a monster, so Drac takes it upon himself to get the fangs out of him, as we say in the movie," he said.
"One of the things is teaching him how to fly. It's the old metaphor of throwing somebody into a lake to learn how to swim. So he throws him off of his huge tower to see if he grows wings and becomes a bat," the director added.
Meanwhile, the film's first teaser trailer has just been released by Sony Pictures Animation. The trailer shows Drac and his friends teaching Drac's grandson how to fly. The movie will be a promising one to amuse the fans.
"Hotel Transylvania 2" is slated to premiere in theaters and cinemas on September 25, 2015.
