Meanwhile, Sunderland is back in the cellar of the league table after being winless in their last six games.
The Black Cats are coming off a goalless draw with contending squad Tottenham Hotspur also last Tuesday in their most recent fixture held at their home ground of Stadium of Light, Sports Mole reported.
Head coach David Moyes' squad was able to hold the title contenders scoreless throughout the match, but they were also not able to score any goals as the two clubs settle for the tie and a share of a point in the overall standings.
