“Dream Escape,” a short movie starring Chinese star Zhou Xun and Hollywood actor Archie Kao, is set to premiere in theaters Friday, March 13.
Set in Los Angeles, U.S., the film was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who is known for box-office hits such as "House of Wax" and "Non-Stop."
The movie is the real-life couple's first team-up since they were married.
Zhou is a multi-awarded Chinese singer and actress who starred in chart-topping films such as "Overheard 3," "The Great Magician" and "The Silent War."
The 41-year-old star has a number of best actress awards coming from various award-giving bodies, such as the Hong Kong Film Awards, Hundred Flowers Awards, Golden Rooster Awards, Golden Horse Awards and Asian Film Awards.
Meanwhile, Archie is a Chinese-American actor who has done exemplary acting stints in a couple of Hollywood films and series. He is most popular for his roles in "Power Rangers Lost Galaxy" and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."
Zhou, who keeps a low profile, first announced her relationship with then-boyfriend in a microblog post dated May 8, 2014. "This is Archie. Please take care of [him]," the actress wrote.
The couple made a surprise announcement at a Hangzhou charity even back in July 16, stating that they have already wed. Before the end of the show, they emerged in a wedding suit and exchanged vows before the event's crowd.
Prior to settling down, the award-winning actress had been known for the unsmooth course of her love life despite her success in career.
On the charity show, Zhou shared: "I've starred in films where I played the bride, but tonight is Zhou Xun's own story of romance."
