Nominees for the upcoming Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards were announced on Thursday. Bruno Mars and band Twenty One Pilots get the most number of nominations in this year's event.
Bruno Mars is nominated for Favorite Male Singer. He will compete against Drake, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, Shawn Mendes and The Weeknd, according to Teen Vogue which reported on the list of nominees. Mars is also nominated for Favorite Song and Favorite Music Video for "24K Magic".
The "Versace on the Floor" singer will be representing North America for Favorite Global Music Star. He will go against other big names in the international music industry - BIGBANG (Asia), 5 Seconds of Summer (Australia/New Zealand), Little Mix (U.K.), Shakira (South America) and Zara Larsson (Europe).
Twenty One Pilots share the stage with Mars also with four nominations in Nickelodeon's 2017 Kids' Choice Awards. The band is nominated for Favorite Music Group and Favorite New Music.
In the Favorite Music Group category, Twenty One Pilots competes with Fifth Harmony, Maroon 5, One Republic, Pentatonix and The Chainsmokers, Teen Vogue reported. In addition, their song "Heathens" is nominated for Favorite Song, "Stressed Out" for Favorite Music Video.
There are 28 categories to vote which includes new categories added only this year - BFFs (Best Friends Forever), Favorite Frenemies, Most Wanted Pet and #Squad, PEOPLE reported. Nominees for new category BFFs are Ruby Barnhill & Mark Rylance, Kevin Hart & Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart & Ice Cube, Chris Pine & Zachary Quinto, Neel Sethi & Bill Murray, and Ben Stiller & Owen Wilson, the entertainment news website added.
Fans voting for their favorite artist, group or TV show opened on Thursday on Nick.com and the Nick app. They may also vote through Facebook and Twitter using hashtags for special KCA and favorite nominee, according to PEOPLE.
Nickelodeon's 2017 Kids' Choice Awards will be held on March 11 at USC's Galen Center in Los Angeles, E! News revealed. The event will be hosted live by WWE's John Cena who also hosted Australia's Kids' Choice Awards in 2008 where he was first slimed.
"Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards is the biggest party for kids, and I'm so excited and honored to host this year's show. I have a lot of big surprises in store so bring on the slime," the WWE supersar said to E! News.
