Beyoncé has once again proved how she and husband Jay Z are masters of disguise. The singer broke the internet on Wednesday when she posted a picture of her and growing tummy with a caption that revealed her family is growing and she is expecting twin babies.
The former's announcement on Wednesday trended on both Instagram and Twitter. Beyoncé's post on Instagram had 2.43 million likes and 166,000 comments in just an hour, Variety reported. Meanwhile, Twitter recorded 17,000 tweets per minute about her pregnancy.
Following the unexpected news that shook social media, people were left wondering how she was able to divert everyone's focus and not notice her growing baby bump. PEOPLE laid down a few of their observations as to how Beyoncé managed to keep her pregnancy under wraps.
While there were hints of the baby bump, no one seemed to mention about it. A source told PEOPLE, the 35-year-old singer hid her growing baby belly with a "series of dark outfits and loose-fitting dresses".
To back this claim up, the source pointed out a number of instances last December when Beyoncé's pregnancy could have been discovered. In a private dinner on Dec. 3 to celebrate her husband's birthday at Republique restaurant in Los Angeles, the source claimed the singer wore a flowy dress to hide the bump.
Another instance was when Beyoncé attended the Christmas show, where she hung out with Mariah Carey backstage at Bacon Theatre, New York City with daughter Ivy and Carey's twins Moroccan and Monroe, she wore an all-black ensemble.
Moreover, according to the source, Queen Bey may also have hinted about her pregnancy when she posted a holiday video on Instagram last Dec. 17. "She could have been giving hints of her pregnancy throughout the celebration as well, especially in one moment where she held up two fingers - a gesture originally interpreted to be just a peace sign," a source explained to PEOPLE.
While the Carters have been permanently residing in New York City, the soon-to-be family of four may be moving to Los Angeles soon, PEOPLE reported. Beyoncé and Jay Z frequented the City of Angels over the past two years, according to the entertainment news website.
An insider also disclosed the Carters are working on their decision to move permanently to Los Angeles and currently looking for a private kindergarten for their 5-year-old daughter Blue Ivy. "Beyoncé and Jay Z seem serious about living in L.A. full time. When Beyoncé and Jay Z are not working, they live a very quiet life in L.A. They seem to prefer private gatherings to public outings," the insider said to PEOPLE.
