The latest details for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will feature new characters in the roster and Captain Marvel and Mega Man X to have key roles in the game's plot.
It seems that two characters will play an important role in "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite's" plot as Marvel and Capcom teased the sequel's unique storytelling as they finally tell gaming fans on how both worlds collide in the first place.
Capcom representative Michael Evans teased the "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite's" storyline will be the pillar of the game and the new characters Mega Man X and Captain Marvel will play an important role into the plot.
On the other hand, Marvel Game's representative Mike Jones added that the "core" foundation that Marvel made from TV series, movies, games etc. is the storytelling and so with the new emphasis on the cinematic story mode and the story of how these two universes collide, and how the characters meet. it drove a lot of the creative decisions for what characters to use in the game, EventHubs reported.
Mega Man X and Captain Marvel will be the new playable characters in "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" along with veteran fighters Ryu, Morrigan, Captain America and Iron Man.
Meanwhile, a new batch of characters from both Marvel and Capcom franchises are rumored to join "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite's" growing roster.
For the Marvel side these characters include the Punisher, Groot, Magneto, Squirrel Girl, Vision and Black Bolt, while in the Capcom side it will feature Asura, Necalli, Lord Raptor, Frank West, G.Kaiser and Zaki, RedBull reported.
Previous reports teased that a villain from a Capcom game will be arriving in "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" via post from NeoGaf username Ryce.
The latest sequel will feature a 2v2 tag team matches, replacing the 3-on-3 team battles and the Infinity Stones as power-ups for each character.
While the identity of this villain is still unknown, Ryce teased that this character will be "sick" and gaming fans will enjoy playing as this character in battle. For instance, Ryu can use the Power Stone to increase the damage of his attacks, while Captain Marvel can use the Time Stone to be faster and quicker in her attacks.
Other features include single-player Arcade, Training, and Mission mode, as well as a cinematic Story Mode that puts players in between both universes as they fight to the top to take on the game’s new villain who is revealed to be at the end of the cinematic trailer.
"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will launch sometime in 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
