Xiaomi may be testing its Mi Mix with the Android 7.0 Nougat update as a benchmark appeared in Geek Bench 4.0. The Chinese tech company has also sold the smartphone in a white variant during a flash sale in China.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix made the headlines because of its 91 percent screen-to-body ratio which beats even the Galaxy S7 Edge or the LG V20. Xiaomi sold the smartphone in a black variant but the company is now selling white variants for those who want a cleaner aesthetic option.
Customers were able to buy the Xiaomi Mi Mix white model with 6GB RAM and 256GB for the internal storage during the flash sale, WCCFTech has learned. The Xiaomi VR headset, Mi Note 2 and the Redmi 4 were also part of the said sale. Unfortunately, the company did not announce whether they were going to hold another sale in the following weeks.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix is a good choice for those who do not care about the price as it uses the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC. It can go toe to toe even with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
While the phone only has Marshmallow running out of the box, the company may be planning an update release soon. The Xiaomi Mi Mix was spotted in a Geekbench result running Android 7.0 and it scored 1737 for the single-core test while it reached 4117 on the multi-core pass.
Xiaomi's smartphone scored 652 for the Crypto test, 1505 for the Integer test, 2745 for the memory test and 2373 for the JPEG test. The new Nougat version may have allowed the smartphone to score higher than its Marshmallow counterparts.
There is no Xiaomi Mi Mix Android 7.0 Nougat release date yet but the fact that the test exists could mean that it is near. The white variant for the smartphone may also appear soon in online stores both from Xiaomi or third-party retailers.
