MediaTek Helio P25 is the newest member of the Helio P-series chipset family. The newly introduced octa-core processor assures consumers of a premium quality imaging, by boosting its support for dual-camera smartphones.
The Helio P25 is considered as mid-range chipset with dual camera features, according to GSM Arena. It is considered as an evolution from the Helio P10 and Helio P20 chipsets, which offer advanced camera effects for a sensible price.
The said device could support up to 24MP single camera or 13MP+13MP dual camera. A device powered by Helio P25 could see a greater improvement in rendering Video HDR with full preview and Bokeh effect. Another camera aspect positively affected by Helio P25 would be its improved time for focusing and snapping images.
Helio P25 has adopted a 16nm FinFET process node, according to MediaTek. That is why it has the capacity to offer up to 25% better power efficiency. With its octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor clocked at up to 2.5GHz, it is expected that it can deliver more power while using less energy than competing solutions.
Concerning network connectivity, the Helio P25 chipset supports enhanced uploads in LTE, up to 64QAM uplink for the LTE-TDD mode. Furthermore, by supporting low power double data rate up to 6GB, a bandwidth improvement up to 70 percent may be attained.
Overall, with Helio P25 powering mobile devices, it is to be expected that processing wise, it would be more energy efficient despite multi-tasking. In terms of image capturing, enhanced visual user experience and mobile photography upgrade could be expected from the said device.
With Helio P25's improved user experience and more flexible device use, a robust option is being added to mid-range smartphones lineup. Such smartphones powered by Helio P25 are to be expected on the market in the coming months, as the company itself assured of a Q1 release this year.
