Injuries are part of the wrestling business as WWE superstars wrestle for more than 300 days a year. Seth Rollins and Finn Balor are the biggest names on the current injury list but it seems like Roman Reigns is also going on the list.
According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), Reigns was injured at the hands of Samoa Joe during their match at Monday Night Raw last week. "The Big Dog" is reportedly "banged up" and the injury happened after Joe used the power slam to win the match.
However, Roman Reigns fans should rejoice since the injury is not considered serious. Although he is hurting, Reigns is not expected to miss any time on television and he is still expected to face Braun Strowman at Fastlane.
It should be noted that Reigns was also attacked by Strowman after his match with Joe. "The Monster Among Men" hit Reigns with the steel steps before using his finisher to drive "The Big Dog" thru the barricade, per WWE.com.
Nevertheless, Joe might be in trouble even though Reigns did not suffer any kind of serious injury. It is the second week in a row wherein "The Destroyer" injured a superstar. Rollins suffered a torn MCL in his surgically-repaired right knee two weeks ago at the hands of Joe.
Also, Tyson Kidd's career might be over after breaking his neck during a match with Joe at NXT. The injury is considered a freak accident since it was the first injury suffered during Joe's Muscle Buster finisher.
Although these injuries are just accidents and not intentional, Joe could easily be punished by Vince McMahon. According to WWE Insiders, Vince is unhappy with Joe's debut and there is reportedly massive backstage heat on him.
However, these are just WWE rumors at the moment and should be taken with a grain of salt. Joe was featured in the opening segment and main event of Monday Night Raw in his second week on the main roster.
Joe also defeated Reigns in his very first match. If there is heat on Joe, that's a great punishment since he's getting pushed with Triple H as his backer. As of this moment, there is no further update on Joe's status but fans should tune in on Raw this Monday to find out plans for him.
