"Lucifer" Season 3 still has not received a green light from FOX and fans are confused why this is the case. The Tom Ellis starrer has been faring well in terms of ratings, so why has not an announcement been made yet?

On the show's official Twitter account, fans are talking about the renewal on a daily basis. In fact, it has been confirmed that the fans of "Lucifer" are pooling their resources together to come up with a video enumerating the reasons why the series should be picked up for a third season.

The writers of "Lucifer" are overwhelmed by all of the fans' support in asking the network to renew the show. But is seems that everyone should already start worrying since FOX has already renewed a handful of shows, but "Lucifer" is not included in their list.

According to TV Line, "American Grit" has already been renewed for a second season. "Empire" has also been picked up for a fourth season. Even "The Simpsons" has also been renewed for two more seasons. Despite a change in its format in Season 13, FOX also renewed "So You Think You Can Dance" for Season 14.

Meanwhile, there are still several episodes left for "Lucifer" Season 2 so FOX may be taking their time with renewing the series. "Lucifer" is also on a three-month hiatus at the moment and will only be back with new episodes starting May 1.

Ahead of "Lucifer" Season 2 return, it is possible that FOX will already made an official announcement regarding its fate. But before this, episode 14, titled "Candy Morningstar," could first introduce a new love interest for Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis). After all, his budding relationship with Chloe (Lauren German) already did not work out.
