While season 8 is still a year away, a bittersweet conclusion is expected from "Game of Thrones" as season 7 airs June this year. It was already promised by George R.R. Martin during his past interviews that fans should expect a not-so-happy ending for the infamous HBO series.
Official details were not yet confirmed but followers of the hit TV program are already giving their own speculations. It is believed that Jon Snow will be facing the "Great Other" God of Cold and Darkness.
This was taken from several inputs at Reddit where one of Melisandre's prophecies including the Great Champion of the Lord of Light whom he believed first as Stannis Baratheon. According to the Red Lady's prophecy, the other Great Champion has a wooden face with a white body, a thousand red eyes and a boy with a wolf beside him.
With this description, the publication believes it could be Bran Stark who is both connected to the Sacred Wood and his possession of a wolf, which is the animal sigil of House Stark. The post further believes that a confrontation between Jon and his half-cousin Bran is eligible in what Martin described as a "bittersweet" ending.
Although the champion of the Lord of Light could also be Daenerys, a battle between two characters related by blood constitutes more of the conclusion Martin hinted. Still, a lot could still happen considering that showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are deviating from the book with Martin's consent.
Meanwhile, other followers are focusing on the possible pairing of Jon and Daenerys. These two are believed to hook-up, and with their impending relationship, the main characters are believed to rule over Westeros, Metro reported.
Aside from this, the publication believes a revelation about Tyrion's true lineage would be revealed. This theory has been going on for a while, and a handful of fans believe the speculation is likely since Tyrion has been despised by Tywin since birth.
Though these assumptions constitute a positive conclusion towards the end of the series, it is also believed a grim fate is awaiting the characters as doom can spread in the entire Westeros because of the White Walkers. If one put it the hard way, the existence of humankind could be extinct if these creatures dominate.
