Model Ashley Graham recently posed for a magazine cover alongside Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and four others. However, the "America's Next Top Model" Cycle 23 judge's feat was marred by some nasty comments on social media. Of the seven women, she was the only curvy model and she posed with her hand on her thigh.
Such pose created controversy and Graham's Instagram followers believed that Hadid's arm covering her stomach was extended through photoshop. Some comments called out the magazine for editing the photo.
Graham, who is known for her work with plus-size clothing store Lane Bryant, made history by being the first curvy skinny model to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition in 2016. It was a year after being featured in the magazine's pages for a Swimsuits for All advertisement.
"Two years ago, my #CurvesInBikinis ad debuted in the SI Swimsuit Issue and it was a huge moment in my career," Graham told Harper's Bazaar. "I was the first size 14 model to be featured in an ad in the magazine, and fast forward to a year later, I was the first size 14 model on the cover!"
This year, Graham will be featured again in another swimwear ad for the 2017 issue of the said magazine. With her are non-models from Puerto Rico for the Swimsuits For All advert which is part of the campaign called Every Body, Every Age, Every Beautiful.
The shoot for the ad took place in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where Graham was joined by local women of various sizes, races and ages. It is the first time the publication's pages will feature regular women and the third time for Graham to star in the Swimsuits For All ad.
Graham's Swimsuit For All are in sizes 6 to 22. Some new-styled swimsuits from the model's collection are worn by the other women for the campaign. Graham modeled a black bikini with floral print while lying on her back. Another shot had her dancing with someone on a street.
The size 14 model teased photos from her new swimwear collection shoots in December 2016. It was not mentioned that some photos from the shoot will be in the magazine this year.
