Apple will reportedly launch three iPhone models, all with a revolutionary wireless charging feature. These rumors are based on alleged reports by KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
According to Techno Buffalo, a more high-end model, the iPhone 8 will subsequently have a 5.8 inch OLED display. The phone models are also expected to have an all glass phone casing.
Apple will equip the new phone models with a 3D Touch module that has additional graphite sheet lamination. This, according to Kuo, will protect the phones from overheating during charging, Mac Rumors reported.
If the rumors regarding wireless charging are true, iPhone users will be able to charge their phones by simply placing them on a special mat-like charging feature. The charging device would have to use electromagnetic fields to pass energy to the gadgets.
Other reports suggest that a more advanced technology, which will charge phones within the proximity of a sensor will be used. Wireless charging is not an entirely new feature since some Samsung handsets have in the past been integrated with the same capabilities.
Wireless charging will be much slower compared to wired charging. However, this new feature will enable users to charge their phones without having to plug in their devices to power sources, an upper hand that promotes flexibility.
The upcoming iPhone models are speculated to cost about $1000 in the United States. The increase in the price was attributed to the expensive technology that will be incorporated in the new models.
Despite all the widespread speculation surrounding the new iPhone models, Apple has remained secretive on the features to expect from the new handsets. Fans are convinced that these rumors are true because Kuo's predictions of iPhone models were proven to be correct over the past years.
Meanwhile, Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy S8 smartphone next month. The South Korean Tech giant will reportedly unveil two models in two different sizes, both with curved screens.
Samsung's new releases have a long shot at recovering the company's reputation from the disastrous Galaxy Note 7 battery problems. The actual date for the release is unknown although Samsung users are eager to see how the company plans to redeem itself.
