The new "Resident Evil 7" expansion is called the "Daughters" DLC, and it is part of the Banned Footage Vol. 2. It is a prequel to the main story before the Baker family encountered Eveline.
According to the Eurogamer, there are two endings for the newest installment of the expansion, with the true ending requiring the player to accomplish a specific set of steps in order to unlock it. This is similar to the game's pre-release demo, but not as convoluted.
The publication recommends players to play through the Bad Ending first as it gives a general feel of the episode's flow. Accomplishing the game with a bad ending is not worthless since players still get a trophy for completing it.
Regardless, for players to complete the game with the true ending, they will need to go to a specific place first, according to VG 24/7. The location is not obvious at first, but the first step is to head to the laundry room to pick up the change of clothes when instructed.
After that, instead of leaving the room, players should go to the crawlspace to head towards the pantry. The crawlspace will yield a lockpick which players must get as it is important and hard to miss.
Heading upstairs, players should make a detour to the bathroom before going to the indicated room. After all, there will be a locked drawer there, housing a small component.
The Kid's room is next on the list, the trophy should be investigated and use the small component to access the attic. This should be done before the change of clothes is given to Eveline.
The pin code Lucas used on his phone earlier should be entered on the computer located on the far wall of the attic. The code is 1019, and doing so will give a hint of the location of a key item inside a red toolbox, which can only be opened when the note is read.
After this, the game can now be played normally as the true ending is already unlocked. Here is a video for the "Daughters" DLC playthrough:
