"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 recently introduced a new doctor named Eliza Minnick (Marika Dominczyk), but she was not well received by her peers. In fact, in last week's episode, Eliza caused a divide among the doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Dominczyk dished on what is in store for her character in the upcoming episodes. According to the actress, Eliza's teaching method will result in the residents being more involved with surgeries and other cases, while the attending becomes more hands off.
She added that her character strongly believes that this method will work best for everyone since it is something that she has tried and tested before. Unfortunately, no one really likes Eliza and what she is about to do will make it less likely for the other doctors to like her.
Meanwhile, Dominczyk also shared her thoughts on what it is really like to be one of the most hated characters on television at the moment. According to her, she is very happy that some viewers have very strong opinions about Eliza, but she does not see her as an unlovable character.
She added that Eliza is one of those characters in the hit ABC series that makes the show interesting. After all, if all characters are well-loved on the show, "Grey's Anatomy" will become very boring to watch.
In other news, things will not stay as such for Eliza as how they are today. Sooner or later, she will find an ally that will support her decisions at the hospital. One such character is Dr. Bailey (Chandra Wilson). She has been supporting Eliza and is even open to breaking her bond with Dr. Webber (James Pickens Jr.) to sustain it.
As of late, it is unclear whether or not Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) will eventually team up with Eliza. At present, she is still siding with Dr. Webber despite Eliza's confession that she finds her attractive.
"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
