New updates and spoilers for "Thor: Ragnarok" will feature Surtur and Thor not wielding Mjolnir by the end of the film.
It seems that another character in the Thor mythos will make his debut in Marvel Cinematic Universe as several behind-the-scenes photos of "Thor: Ragnarok" revealed clues hinting the arrival of the fire lord Surtur.
In two of the pictures, fans can see Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a dark set where he is looking upwards with a concerned expression. On his back, the hero is seen chained to a set of terrifyingly sharp horns, and comic book fans were quick to notice how similar they were to Surtur, ComicBook reported.
Surtur is the fire demon of Muspelheim, one of the Nine Realms which is bathed in fire. Armed with one powerful sword, Surtur is one of Thor’s most well-known villains thanks to his destructive nature. The villain is said to be one of the Ragnarok monsters along with Fenris Wolf to destroy Asgard during its apocalyptic event and they are released by Hela, Goddess of Hel (Cate Blanchett).
In other news, it seems that Thor might wielding a new weapon after the events of "Thor: Ragnarok" as a new theory hints that Thor might use a different weapon other than Mjolnir.
The theory about Thor's new weapon was first hinted in the concept art of "Avengers: Infinity War" when the God of Thunder teams up with Rocker Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) as viewers and Marvel fans alike noticed that Thor is holding a different weapon and not his hammer.
Many has speculated that Thor's new weapon could be his battle axe Jarnbjorn, a weapon he used in his earlier days before he obtained Mjornir. Other theorized that Mjolnir could be reforged and will sport the axe/hammer similar to Ultimate Mjolnir from the Ultimate Marvel comics.
However, a new theory explained that Thor could become unworthy of lifting Mjolnir by the end of "Thor: Ragnarok" similar to his main comic book counterpart, Screenrant reported. It still highly debatable if Thor will not wiel Mjolnir by the end of "Ragnarok" or even the start of "Avengers: Infinity War", but fans will likely find out if the new weapon is a reforged Mjolnir or Jarnbjorn in the future MCU films soon.
"Thor: Ragnarok" is scheduled to be released in cinemas on Nov. 3.
