Britney Spears did not take Katy Perry's remarks about "shaved head" and mental health at the Grammy's all that well. She lashed out at the "Rise" singer with a comeback tweet that has been dubbed by her fans as a "classy" way to shade someone!
When Katy Perry was asked by Ryan Seacrest at the Grammys why she has been missing in action when it comes to releasing new music albums, the singer opened up about the importance of maintaining sanity and preserving her mental health. Perry's last album was 'Prism', which she dropped back in 2014. Perry has recently released a single "Chained to the Rhythm" with Skip Marley on Feb. 10.
Seacrest then proceeded to enquire how Perry's decision to hold off from rushing into releasing her fifth album was going.
"Fantastic! And I haven't shaved my head yet," answered Perry, New York Daily News reported. This comment was, of course, in reference to Britney Spears' infamous mental breakdown of 2007, where she appeared in front of the paparazzi with a bald head.
Needless to say, Spears found Perry's remark to be insensitive and unnecessary. So, she found out a way to get back at her without actually launching a cat fight face-to-face.
She posted a mesmerizing picture showing "heart" hands cupping a setting sun with the caption from the Bible: "Her mouth speaks from that which fills her heart (heart emoji) Luke 6:45."
The tweet was aimed at Perry as a double-edged sword. It not only emphasized the lack of good-heartedness of the "Roar" singer, but also her well-known anti-Christian stance. Although unproven, Perry has often been criticized of using a number of "Illuminati" imageries in her songs and music videos.
Many Britney Spears fans claimed that the throwing shade at Perry through a Bible verse was pure genius!
"QUEEN OF SHADE!!" wrote Perez Hilton. Another user wrote, "What a classy way to put someone in their place!!!!" while yet another remarked, "Wow shading Katy through a bible verse, holy queen," Daily Mail reported.
Busy promoting her new single, Perry has not replied to Spears' tweet yet.
