If new reports are anything to go by, Cupertino-based Apple is working on a new ARM-based chip to add to the 2017 MacBook Pro specifications.
According to reports, ARM-based chip went into development last year and it is likely to be identical to the chip used in the newest MacBook Pro.
The new chip is reportedly being made using technologies offered by ARM Holdings Plc.
Reports also indicate that the new chip will be used for Power Nap.
The feature allows a user's MacBook Pro to wake up when it is sleeping to sync their iCloud data,, or to fetch their emails and calendar events or upload photos to iCloud. In addition, Power Nap facilitates small Time Machine backups.
However, it is said that the tech company will be collaborating with Intel for the new models of MacBook Pro powered by next-generation ARM-based chipset.
Meanwhile, according to a Forbes report, the latest range of high end Apple laptops will not launch in the market so soon, taking into account that the earlier year's laptops are still new in the market.
Speculations are doing the rounds that Apple will unveil the new laptop by mid-2017. Various reports claim that since the software company introduced their innovative Touch Bar technology in the MacBook Pro 2016 models, it is unlikely that the 2017 MacBook Pro will witness a major design change.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the changes that can be anticipated in the new MacBook Pro will be under-the-hood. Reports indicate that Apple wants to acquire Intel's latest Kaby Lake processor for their new line of laptops.
A 15-inch laptop is said to be in the works that will feature 32GB RAM and Kaby Lake processor. According to a MacRumors report, the 2017 MacBook Pro will be released this year. Some reports suggest that the production of MacBook Pro will not begin till September.
Apple may adjust the price of the expensive MacBook Pro in the forthcoming years. Apple is known to reduce the prices of its devices the year after they are initially launched.
