Viewers of "Hwarang: The Beginning" should buckle their seatbelts for some unexpected twists. Just recently, a new picture from the set has been released, teasing shocking twists for Sun Woo (Park Seo Joon) and Ji Dwi (Park Hyung Sik).
In the 18th episode of "Hwarang: The Beginning," it was revealed that Master Hyi Kyung Kong (Song Young Kyu), who was formerly in line to inherit the throne, is actually Sun-Woo's biological father. Ji Dwi, on the other hand, finally begin his reclamation of his throne as he declared himself the 24th monarch of Silla, King Jinheung.
Moving on to "Hwarang: The Beginning" finale. The sneak peek for the show's penultimate episode begins with a group of children singing on the streets of Sila, "The best Hwarang is Master Ji Dwi. The best King is Master Sun Woo." It then showed Queen Jiso (Kim Ji Soo) warning Sam Maek Jong (Hyung Sik) of Sun Woo, asking him to treat the latter as his rival.
While many think Ji Dwi and Sun Woo will fight over the throne, others are hoping that the story will take an unexpected turn. Speculations are rife that the two will be each other's biggest supporter with Ji Dwi becoming the King of Silla and Sun Woo as the chief officer (Pungwolju) of the Hwarang.
It even intensified when the production crew of "Hwarang: The Beginning" released some behind-the-scenes photos, including close-up shots of the male lead stars. In the photos obtained by Sports Chosun, Seo Joon and Hyung Sik are together on the set during a short break from filming.
The two seemed to be extremely relaxed and comfortable with each other as they sit on the floor with their swords in their grasp. Aside from the photos, the staff did not forget to ask viewers to continue watching the show until the end, hinting at a special rapport between the male lead characters.
"The two actors Park Seo Joon and Park Hyung Sik had perfect chemistry," Soompi quoted the drama's staff member as saying. "'Hwarang' is proud to have the best teamwork, but the chemistry between the two carried the story, so we want to express our thanks. Please look forward to the special rapport they will show in the remaining two episodes."
