Hallyu star Lee Min Ho is confirmed to release a new album this month. "Always by Lee Min Ho" will be the actor's first album in two years.
Although he is more popularly known as an actor, Lee regularly gifts fans with songs and even released an album in 2015. Lee Min Ho's 2017 album "Always by Lee Min Ho" will be released globally in March, but a new single will be debuted during his scheduled fan meetings this February, Soompi reported.
The single, "Always," expresses the actor's gratitude towards his fans who have constantly supported him throughout his decade-long career. The title track was first performed live during his Feb. 18 and 19 fan meetings. The song is a ballad and will be heard by fans when the full album drops in March.
"It is not ordinary for an actor who is not officially pursuing a singing career to release an album internationally," Lee Min Ho's agency, MYM Entertainment, said, Inquirer reported.
Lee first released his own music in 2013 when he debuted with the special album "My Everything." The mini album peaked at the number one spot on Japan's Oricon daily album chart, while the track "Song For You" topped Taiwan's iTunes chart. His latest song was "Run," which he recorded for his movie "Bounty Hunters" in 2016 and featured Chinese duo Yu Quan.
The release of "Always by Lee Min Ho" comes as a surprise to fans, since he hasn't promoted as a singer in a very long while. However, the new album shows the actor's dedication and love for his fans.
Meanwhile, Lee recently wrapped up his massively successful drama series "The Legend of the Blue Sea," in which he co-starred with top actress Jun Ji Hyun. The drama's popularity transcended boundaries and became a huge hit not just in Asia, but even in Europe.
"Lee Min Ho has grown a lot since the last time I saw him three years ago. The character Heo Joon Jae changes a lot throughout the drama, and Lee Min Ho did a great job portraying the different sides to the character," the show's producer praised the actor.
