Tottenham has been struggling in their past few matches with three winless performances in their last four outings. As a result, the team dropped to third place from second place in the league standings. They are now two points behind new second-running squad Manchester City and 10 points below current league leaders Chelsea with 13 rounds to go in the season.

The Spurs were blanked by another contending side, Liverpool FC, 0-2, on the road at the Anfield during their most recent Premier League fixture on Feb. 11, SkySports reported.

Head coach Mauricio Pochettino's squad was shut out by the stifling defense of the Reds throughout the match. Senegalese forward Sadio Mane netted a brace in the 16th and 18th minutes for Liverpool to hand Tottenham only their third loss this term.

Meanwhile, Stoke City snapped a three-game winless slide with a close 1-0 win over bottom three team Crystal Palace at their home ground of Bet365 Stadium also on Feb. 11, as per the Mirror.

Welsh midfielder Joe Allen provided the winning goal for the Potters in the 67th minute with a mid-range shot off an assist by Egyptian winger Ramadan Sobhi.

It was the eighth win of the season for head coach Mark Hughes' side. The team is 17 points below the Europa League qualifying spot for the next season presently held by Liverpool but they are 12 points above the bottom three relegation area.
