Microsoft's upcoming Surface Pro 5 will purportedly be announced in the MWC 2017 event. However, it could be possible that the laptop hybrid will be released alongside the Xbox One Scorpio and the HoloLens.

According to Trusted Reviews, the reason behind the rumor is the fact that contracted product designer Toby Fitch posted in his LinkedIn profile that he worked for Microsoft since June 2016 for the devices. The description said that he worked on the R&D department and created new speech models as well as multidisciplinary approach for future devices such as HoloLens, Surface Pro 5, and Xbox.

Further inflaming the rumors is the fact that Fitch deleted the job from his LinkedIn profile since then, and it now displays a blank section where it used to be. However, Twitter user WalkingCat posted in their profile a screenshot of the job description, making sure that the evidence of its existence is preserved.

Another strong evidence of the device's existence is the recent image leak from the Microsoft French Website, which was deleted after being seen by FZN. The image depicts a Surface Pro device, judging from the similarities with its predecessors in terms of build and design.

The image suggests that the Surface Pro 5 will have a clip-on magnetic type Cover Keyboard as well as a Surface Pen accessory. It is similar to the other past devices, which suggests that the products will still be used in the new Surface Pro once it gets launched.

The Surface Pro 5 is not confirmed just yet, but with the potential showcase of the Xbox One Scorpio and the HoloLens in the MWC 2017 event, it is possible for the laptop hybrid to be announced in the event as well. The mobile show will start on Feb. 27 in Barcelona, Spain, which might sound unlikely for a launch announcement, but anything can be possible for Microsoft at this point.
