South Korean actress Kim Ji-Won is set to return to TV this year with another drama tentatively titled "Third-Rate My Way." The series will see the 24-year-old actress star alongside award-winning actor Park Seo-Joon.
On Feb. 24, Friday, an official from Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) confirmed Kim and Park have signed on to star in "Third-Rate My Way," according to Korean newsoutlet Osen. The script will be written by Im Sang-Choon and will be directed by Lee Na-Jeong, whose previous projects include the hit 2015 drama "Oh My Venus."
The story of "Third-Rate My Way" revolves around the various challenges faced by two ordinary individuals in a society where one's educational qualification matters the most. Without the connections, money, or education necessary to advance, the two have been unable to escape their third-rate lives.
Park will play the role of Ko Dong-Man, a former taekwondo athlete who now makes a living by working as a contract employee. At some point, he gathers up enough courage to join the UFC league and become a professional mixed martial artist.
Kim, on the other hand, plays an ambitious woman, Choi Ae-Ra, who works at the information desk in a department store. As she chases her dream of becoming a renowned news anchor, the heroine consistently takes the national anchor exam, but has failed every test so far.
Fate then brings Ko Dong-Man and Choi Ae-Ra together in the most unexpected time and place. While no other details about the project have been revealed yet, "Third-Rate My Way" is scheduled to air on KBS starting in May.
Meanwhile, Park has become the first Asian model to represent the popular American apparel brand, Tommy Hilfiger. He attended the "TommyLand Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2017" in Los Angeles, California on Feb. 8.
"Park Seo Joon fits well with the simple and dandy image that our brand desires," a representative from the fashion brand told All Kpop. "We look forward to the synergy that 'Tommy Hilfiger' will create with Park Seo Joon, who's a trending actor with great popularity and influence in the Asian market."
