"How to Get Away with Murder" Season 3 ended its 15-episode run with an explosive finale that finally unveiled Wes' (Alfred Enoch) killer and cleared Annalise's (Viola Davis) name. In the upcoming fourth season of the ABC legal drama, viewers can expect to see Laurel's (Karla Souza) attempts to put her life back in order, as well as a few scenes that will involve her deceased beau.
The two-episode finale of the ABC series "How to Get Away with Murder" Season 3 featured several suspenseful and emotional scenes as viewers finally learned the identity of Wes' killer. Aired on Feb. 23, Thursday, a flashback sequence unveiled how Dominic (Nicholas Gonzalez) gave Wes a sedative injection and smothered him to death before rigging the gas line in Annalise's house to explode.
Dominic may have been the person who killed Laurel's beau, however, there was another character involved in the said incident. Featured towards the end of the ABC series' season finale, it was revealed that Laurel's manipulative father Jorge (Esai Morales) was the one who contracted Dominic to do the villainous deed.
At this point, it is still unclear why Jorge had Wes killed. However, the upcoming "How to Get Away with Murder" Season 4 is expected to tackle some of the show's mysteries.
In an interview with TVLine, Souza teased that the new season will feature a deeper look at Laurel's family and the said character's relationship with her father. Given how Jorge's manipulative tactics ruined her life coupled with allegations of perjury and an unexpected pregnancy, Laurel's world will further crumble, according to the actress.
However, Laurel's fighting spirit and her quest to uncover the truth behind Wes' death will push her to move forward with her life and decide what to do with her unborn baby. Souza stated, "She's still going through grief while being pregnant, and she has a big decision to make."
Meanwhile, Wes' story will continue to be one of the plot points in the upcoming "How to Get Away with Murder" Season 4. Showrunner Pete Nowalk told Entertainment Weekly that viewers might see a glimpse of the said character in upcoming episodes.
Nowalk explained that given the wealth of stories left in Wes' arc, some of the mysteries surrounding his death will be explored in the new season. He added, "I don't think we'll see a ton of him, but I hope to see [Wes] throughout the series."
"How to Get Away with Murder" Season 4 is expected to premiere in the latter part of the year on ABC. Watch one of the memorable scenes from the Season 3 finale below:
