With an aim of extending the range of its secure mobile devices, the Canadian company Blackberry Ltd. launched a high-security tablet, designed alongside Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., an International Business Machines, the Wall Street Journal announced.
The SecuTABLET, patterned after Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 presented by the SecuSmart division of the BlackBerry unit at CeBIT 2015 held in Germany, shows-off the company's emphasis on secure connections for both businesses and governments. They are in a constant effort of preserving a secure niche market after battling with numerous emerging smartphone manufacturers in the recent years, like Apple Inc, the Globe & Mail reported.
"Security is ingrained in every part of BlackBerry's portfolio, which includes voice and data encryption solutions," Dr. Hans-Christoph Quelle, the chief executive officer of Secusmart GmbH said.
The device is currently in the process of acquiring certification from the German Federal Office for its security rating under the Information Security protocol. The company has also specified that their newest device uses the same security technology that the Secusmart Security Card operates on.
"Working alongside IBM and Samsung, we have added the last link in the chain of the Federal Security Network. Subject to certification of the SecuTABLET, German government agencies will have a new way to access BlackBerry's most secure and complete communications network in the world," Quelle added.
This new Blackberry device targets the global security market of both the international and national public sector enterprises and entities that are in deep need of data protection.
