The future of Ronda Rousey is still up in the air two months after losing to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207. Many believe that Rousey is going to announce her retirement but she recently teased her possible return inside the Octagon.

In a recent post on Instagram, "Rowdy" hinted that she might not be ready to retire despite coming off two straight losses. Her post was a quote made by American author and professor John August Shedd.

"A ship in the harbor is safe, but that's not what ships are for," the post said, via Yahoo! Sports.

Rousey started her career 12-0 and she dominated each and every one of those fights. However, she suffered her first defeat at UFC 193 against Holly Holm via a head kick knockout. She went on a long layoff before challenging Nunes at UFC 207.

The former champion's fall from grace was shocking to almost everyone. She was being compared to all-time greats in all sports regardless of gender. She was also being identified as one of the most dominating athletes in history.

It was heartbreaking for Rousey's fans to see her get defeated and beaten convincingly in her last two fights. Even former bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz was very heartbroken to see the demise of one of greatest stars in the UFC.

"It's heartbreaking for me, as an athlete, I know what she's feeling and I know what she's going through. As a female, that's on another level and I can't even imagine that. It's a different level of scrutiny I would imagine," Cruz said in an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience.

Since Rousey is not retiring or at least hinting that she's not done with MMA, her next fight will likely take place later this year. In the meantime, she just landed a role on NBC's "Blindspot" as Devon Penberthy.

"Rousey will be playing DEVON PENBERTHY: a female prison inmate who grew up in a working class family from the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and is serving time for transporting weapons across state lines. She is a tough, athletic woman who knows how to fight and handle a weapon," the press release said, per MMA Junkie.
