Just recently, Inside Local has posted that Byron Scott is planning to start Jeremy Lin as a point guard in 10 more games for the Los Angeles Lakers. This has followed after speculations have surfaced, stating that Lin is said to be leaving the team in the end, in which he politely dismissed for now, as reported earlier by the Los Angeles Times.
"I'm not going to answer any of those free agency questions until after the season," Lin stated. "I'll discuss that later."
In the game against Atlanta Hawks on March 15, Sunday at the Staples Center, Scott features Jordan Clarkson at point guard, Wayne Ellington for shooting guard, Wesley Johnson for small forward, Tarik Black center, and Jordan Hill for power forward. This has been the lineup for the past three games.
However, Scott plans to start Lin at point guard at some point, while he puts Ryan Kelly at power forward.
"I want to see how much of a difference it is now as opposed to the start of the season," said Scott. "He knows the offense better and he knows what I need from him every single night on both ends of the floor."
His statement, which appeared on Inside Local, also emphasized that it will be a bit of a change to see Lin on his starting role. "He was thinking so much back earlier in the season. Right now, he's just playing," Scott added.
Lin started as a starting point guard for the team in the first 19 games of the season, but lost his spot to Ronnie Price.
