Making the headlines yet again is Kim Mathers, 41, the former wife of Marshall Bruce Mathers III, 44, who is professionally known as Eminem. Accused of violating probation due to multiple diluted drug test results, she appeared in Macomb County District Court on March 20, Monday.

"I did nothing wrong," Kim told WXYZ Detroit. "I went above and beyond to prove to the court I'm compliant and that I take the judge's orders seriously. I just want to move on."

Judge Douglas Shepard was impressed that Kim proactively proved her compliance by switching to Soberlink, which randomly administers tests every day. He explained that diluted results can be accidental.

In 2015, Kim confessed to a suicide attempt. She told police that she intentionally drank a fifth of rum before getting behind the wheel.

In 2016, Eminem's former wife apologized before a judge and expressed remorse. Even before it was mandated by the court, she reached out for help and started counseling.

Kim was sentenced to 12 months of probation. This requires her to submit to regular drug tests and random alcohol testing and continue counseling.

According to court documents, six of Kim's drug test results were diluted from December 2016 to Feb. 1. Her defense attorney told the judge in court that she did not over-hydrate intentionally.

There is no education on this particular aspect of drug testing, the attorney said. He added that clients are often not aware that they are diluted until they receive a notice.

Upon the receipt of the notice, Kim did not hesitate to voluntarily submit hair and blood samples then requested testing through Soberlink. Her 197 Soberlink tests and a hair sample test have all come back negative, according to her attorney. She will continue serving her probation.
